The publication was co-sponsored by EPRI-PEAC Corp., Illinois Power Company and State Farm Insurance Co. Frost & Sullivan, a consulting firm that does a detailed study of the Power Quality market every 3 years, concluded the residential surge protection market is extremely underdeveloped and has huge growth potential. Today’s homes include expensive entertainment systems, security systems and multiple computers. Higher end appliances now contain microprocessor circuits. All this equipment is easily damaged by power surges. As the homebuilder, you have the opportunity to provide a valuable service to new home buyers. The pre-construction, option selection process is the ideal time to educate homeowners and offer a cost effective solution to protect their new investment.
